One great meal deserves another! by seoulveggieclub

Thanks to the heaps of people who came out to enjoy Kashmiri food at Taj Palace on Sunday! It’s such a pleasure to meet my fellow veggies. The food was amazing (I was stuffed, and couldn’t eat anything else for the rest of the day.) The owner and his wife were so good to us, slinging fresh naan, dal, paneer and samosas all over the table, and asking only what they would have charged for the buffet.

The next meal will be on the third Saturday of the month, which makes it September 15th.

Thanks to the website I’ve got a few new ideas for places to visit that we haven’t been to before, and that aren’t too expensive. Currently I’m interested in a place called Salem, at this website:

But as it turns out, this place is closed on Saturdays. Boooo.

However, one of our members has offered to host us for a dinner party instead! Yay! Stay tuned for confirmation and details… (I’ll send another mass email when all the details are set.)

What time are people meeting on the 15th?

Good point. Let’s call it 1 pm.

According to the VegetarianKorea website the Salem is closed on Saturdays (no doubt because it’s another SDA place…)
I noticed that the site lists about 40 vegetarian or vegetarian-friendly places around Seoul and over 20 others in Gyeonggi province. It also lists places from other provinces around Korea – so I think that it’s a very valuable resource for vegetarians throughout the Korean peninsula…

hi! i have arrived to south korea almost a month ago together with my husband. we are both vegans and we live in suwon. can we join your next meeting as well? if so, it would be great if it is in afternoon/evening as we both have classes on that day. perhaps we could have dinner?

Ron- you’re quite right, this place is closed on Saturday. Fortunately, there is a back-up plan.

Monika, we’d love to have you out, and chances are good that the next meeting will be a dinner in Seoul. Stay tuned for confirmation…
